THE DACIOS are a high-octane, lysergic, nitrous sucking rock n’ roll beast. Like a reprobate Phoenix exploding from the ashes of legendary Tasmanian band Little Ugly Girls, THE DACIOS first erupted on local stages in 2005. Their first dangerously flammable line-up boasted Linda J (Little Ugly Girls) on larynx/guitar; Bean (Little Ugly Girls, Keith’s Yard) on guitar/back-ups; and Pops on traps. Permanently stimulated by a synapse twisting brew of rock n’ roll sour mash, THE DACIOS are esteemed for their white-heat live performances (now featuring Gus – Brian Hooper Band – on drums). They’ve recently revved up rooms for Eddy Current Suppression Ring (album launch); Deniz Tek’s Visitors; Legends of Motorsport; Ninety Nine; The Stabs; and Witch Hats. They also helped RRR celebrate its 30th birthday bash in typically debauched style. But there’s more to THE DACIOS than just the brain pulverising roar of a supercharged V12 running full throttle through a nuclear junkyard. Linda J’s lyrical concoctions constitute a highly virulent poetic serum which she expectorates in heaving torrents against the increasingly claustrophobic forces of urban banality. Her unflinching psychic insights wrench the cancerous lesions of modern life into the glare and splay love’s ordeals on a dissection table like so many toads, their entrails pullulating with rheumy ooze. So, if you’re impatient to slake yourself with this incendiary distillation, visit www.myspace.com/thedacios and get banjaxed. THE DACIOS first bottled batch - ‘Monkey’s Blood’ - will be available soon via Tom Lyngcoln's cochlear speakeasy, Solar/Sonar (distributed by Shock). QUOTES “People go on at length about the supposed genius of Australian lyricists like Nick Cave, Robert Forster, Paul Kelly, Tim Rogers and that guy from Augie March, but none of them can hold a candle to Linda Johnston when it comes to turning deeply personal concerns into universal expression. I guarantee that when you hear this record, you will instantly dismiss 85 per cent of the music you previously liked and embrace one of Australia’s most powerful and vital bands instead.” - MESS + NOISE “Height wise Linda Johnston is five feet nothing but vocally she is a 400 Ft Jesus in jeans and a flannel swinging between the ferocious snarls of Adalita Srsen, Joel Silbersher and Kathleen Hanna and the sultry twang of Neko Case. A must get? Most definitely.” -Unbelievably Bad Zine “..a set of lungs to make Bon Scott and Doc Neeson blush” - M + N TRACK LISTING: 1. LIBERTY LOVERS 2. MONICA 3. MONKEYS BLOOD 4. BUZZARDS HIDE 5.
